The Zurich Reserve on Lake Zurich: as romantic as can be
Head to the Zurich shore, where Philippe Starck’s bold vision lends an air of eternal cruising to one of Switzerland’s most stylish hotels. At La Réserve Eden au lac, the French designer transforms the guest rooms into elegant cabins, the rooftop into a gourmet deck, and the entire property into a poem floating on the lake’s peaceful waters.

Falling in love all over again on Lake Zurich
La Reserve Eden, a building constructed over 115 years ago, was given a new lease on life in 2020 when it entrusted its renovation plan to an architectural maverick: the timeless Philippe Starck. The result is a resolutely contemporary design for the 40 rooms and suites, conceived as luxurious sailors’ cabins ashore in this hotel, which the artist envisions as an“imaginary ocean liner.” Light-colored leather, red brick walls, and bright hardwood floors define these living spaces overlooking Lake Zurich, all just a 5-minute walk from the city’s Opera House. An ideal location that promises a stay where culture and romance form an inseparable duo. And since a day always ends with a good dinner, head to La Muña and its tree-lined rooftop terrace offering a unique 360° view of the surrounding scenery, between the historic center and the Alps in the background. Here, you can savor the most exquisite Nikkei cuisine (Peruvian-Japanese fusion) in an enchanting setting featuring multicolored stained-glass windows, designed by Ara Starck, the daughter of the famous designer. And for all lovers of the brasserie vibe, the brunches at Eden Kitchen, on the ground floor of the establishment, are the place to be. On Sundays, this restaurant invites you to its Sunday Roast, where the finest cuts from top poultry suppliers are grilled on-site, while a massive brunch, called Lazy Sunday, is served starting at noon.
