Sibuet Homes and Hotels: Pioneers of an Intimate Lifestyle
The Sibuet Hotels & Resorts Family
It all began in the early 1980s, long before the word “lifestyle” became a buzzword in the hotel industry. With an eye for beauty, Jocelyne Sibuet decided to join her husband on an adventure that would change their lives forever. Her husband, who came from a family of hoteliers, decided to take over a small 23-room hotel in Megève, aptly named Au Coin du Feu.

Maisons & Hôtels Sibuet: Pioneers of Alpine Lifestyle
The couple turned it into a unique hotel where guests feel right at home, a far cry from the cookie-cutter hotels of the time. They were guided by a single vision: to create places where people feel comfortable, without any fuss, in an authentic and warm atmosphere.
Their vision and boldness paid off. In 1989, the couple envisioned Les Fermes de Marie, a hamlet rebuilt from centuries-old alpine chalets.
The Sibuet style was born: Jocelyne took charge of the decor while her husband drew up the plans and set his sights on future acquisitions. The years that followed wrote a true saga. The Hôtel Mont-Blanc regained its former glory in 1994; the Lodge Park was transformed into a chic, trapper-inspired retreat in 1996, while Provence embraced their rustic charm with the Bastide de Marie nestled among the vineyards. The couple also decided to take over the Cour des Loges in Lyon, bringing an urban, arty, and heritage-focused vision of hospitality, then set their sights on the paradise island of St. Barths, envisioning a hotel with a one-of-a-kind tropical atmosphere.
The couple never sought to follow trends: they created them. Pure Altitude, their cosmetics line founded on mountain plants and edelweiss, launched in 2000, also reflects this pioneering vision. With them, the hotel industry becomes a matter of atmosphere, sensations, and memory. And although the couple has been separated for over twenty years, their journey unfolds like a story passed down from generation to generation.

The hallmarks of the Sibuet Homes & Hotels Group
While Jocelyne and Jean-Louis laid the foundation, it is now their children, Marie and Nicolas Sibuet, who are writing the next chapters of the family business. A second generation that does not merely imitate, but carries on the tradition and reinterprets it.
Marie Sibuet, who grew up amidst construction projects, bold design ideas, and the changing seasons in Megève, brings a contemporary sensibility to the Sibuet aesthetic: natural materials, organic color palettes, artisanal details, and atmospheres that are both cozy and free-spirited.
Her keen eye extends her mother’s vision while opening it up to new creative possibilities.
He is notably responsible for the stylistic evolution of the Sibuet Houses and Hotels, while his brother, Nicolas Sibuet, brings entrepreneurial energy and a strategic understanding of the market.
Trained in management and hospitality, he is developing the group with the ambition of preserving what makes the family brand strong: sincerity and local roots, while modernizing the tools, hotels, and concepts.
His approach is evident in the most daring projects: the opening of Altapura, the Saint-Barth venture, or the revival of heritage properties such as Les Dromonts in Avoriaz—all conceived as immersive experiences rather than cookie-cutter hotels.
For whom?
For those who can never decide whether they prefer the sea or the mountains, and who are looking for a warm, family-friendly atmosphere during their stay.
