Getaway at the Hôtel Bleu in Carry-Le-Rouet
Go to Marseille and enjoy the warmth and light of the South of France.
Carry-le-Rouet, a small village on the Côte Bleue, is becoming a must-visit destination in Marseilles, with the unveiling of a brand-new establishment: the Hotel Bleu.
With its panoramic terrace, gourmet restaurant and sea-view swimming pool, this new 4-star hotel already has all the hallmarks of a great hotel.
The charming village of Carry-le-Rouet can be reached in just 25 minutes by TER train from Marseille Saint-Charles station.
You'd be wrong to miss out on this ride along the rails, as the rail line is so impressive in its beauty. Created in 1882, the railroad runs over 18 viaducts, 2 bridges and 23 tunnels overlooking the Mediterranean. There are no roads in the vicinity: the train travels in the middle of nature, threading its way between footpaths and the deep blue sea. This is the idyllic setting for the Hotel Bleu, a brand-new 4-star hotel which, like an ocean liner, overlooks the port of Carry-le-Rouet.
The hotel’s 44 rooms, like the hotel’s interior design, were created by the architectural firm Architecture 54. Gold, blue, and white blend seamlessly in the modern furnishings, which pay tribute to several local talents. It is not uncommon to find a frame holding a photo of Fernandel, as he was a resident of Carry-le-Rouet. The town also pays tribute to the famous actor by displaying a bust of him and naming a beach in his honor. Le Fernand, meanwhile, is the name of the bar nestled next to the hotel’s infinity pool, where you can enjoy wonderful cocktails (and, a rarity worth noting, mocktail recipes of wild inventiveness).
