Autumn getaway in New York
6 new places to discover in New York in autumn
As summer draws to a close, New York unveils its autumn-colored charms with a stroll through Central Park, where the flamboyant reds and golds of its trees and their leaves take to the skies. It's the perfect opportunity to discover the Big Apple, with its brand-new restaurants, French cocktail bars and sweetly populated hotels.
Cosmopolitan New York rolls out the red carpet for those who come to discover its many beauties. While the trendy new Bed-Stuy district has become the place to be with the opening of Daphne's restaurant, you'll also find sure-fire values when it comes to setting the dancefloor alight at Silencio, which is unveiling its intercontinental address. Here's a short guide to a successful stay, with art galleries, wine bars and shopping sprees. Plume's choice for discovering New York in autumn.

The Warren Hotel breathes new life into Tribeca
Saffron-yellow walls, salmon-colored upholstery and intensely green headboards: this delightful mix of hues comes straight from the imagination of interior designer Kit Kemp, who has transformed this new establishment into a world of enchantment.
On paper, this charming hotel might appear to be too much, but this is not the case when you discover this fabulous 69-room setting, where good taste is the order of the day.
Design pieces are carefully selected, such as these woven lighting fixtures by Argentine artist Cristián Mohaded.
The hotel's 150-cover restaurant, Warren Street bar and restaurant, features porcelain creations by Kit Kemp, who also handles tableware with talent, for a cuisine that's not afraid to play the melting pot game, drawing inspiration from Mediterranean flavors as well as traditional American dishes, such as a lobster roll with tarragon aioli, exquisite and colorful, just like this new New York hotel.

Cartier makes its mark in the heart of Soho
Since last spring, Soho has boasted a space where luxury, culture and conviviality come together. Add a few jewels and other exceptional pieces, and you get the brand-new Cartier boutique, a treasure trove of inventiveness signed by the studioparisien architectural firm.
The latter imagined an urban loft transformed into an immersive retail experience for the fine jewelry house. Spread over 4 floors, the hybrid boutique features a bar, a lounge area and a planted rooftop, while exhibiting the company's creations. The famous panther, the brand's totem animal, has not forgotten to show the tip of its snout, as it roams on a fresco along the staircase, mischievously accompanying your urban safari, perfect for a trip to New York in autumn.

Wine bar and cocktail club: when the Experimental Group promises twice the pleasure
The French group resurfaces in New York almost ten years after the opening of their now famous Compagnie des Vins Surnaturels in Paris, renamed La Compagnie Saint Germain, with not one, but two new addresses. Although they share the same mailbox, these two new, simply luxurious establishments are separated by one floor in order to combine "two rooms, two atmospheres".
On the ground floor is La Compagnie Wine Bar Flatiron, an elegant bar with a hushed ambience in which nearly a hundred small local and international wine producers are listed.
The basement, meanwhile, reveals an Art Nouveau-inspired speakeasy in amber tones: the perfect place to enjoy a cocktail from head bartender Nico de Soto. An Experimental Cocktail Club New York in which architect Dorothée Meilichzon has let her creativity twirl in an organic space, like a hushed cellar concealing a thousand marvels.

Le Silencio New York: a sense of celebration
Last spring, one of Paris's most famous clubs set up its New York version in the Hell's Kitchen district. And if the floor, like the walls, is the color of hell (or, as the case may be, love), it has to be said that the temperature rises a notch when the turntables start to heat up. However, there's no question of starting a demon salsa, as the musical selection is both rigorous and cutting-edge, in a club that has built its Parisian legend with prestigious guests such as David Lynch (the venue's artistic director), Lana Del Rey, Breat Easton Ellis and the late Virgil Abloh. This new New York venue, imagined by interior designer Harry Nuriev, is the place to be for nights out like only the Big Apple can offer. What happens at Silencio stays at Silencio.

Daphne's restaurant: the perfect place to eat in New York in autumn
Forget Williamsburg! The new neighborhood that New Yorkers love is still in Brooklyn, but we can now count on Bed-Stuy to liven up our lunches (and evenings), following the example of Daphne's, opening in spring 2024, which offers Italian-American cuisine to die for. The porcelain plates, which look like they came straight out of our grandmothers' kitchens, are enhanced by a cuisine that pays homage to the city's Italian community, including a carpaccio swimming in a Cajun goma sauce accompanied by thin slices of watermelon. Perfect for an exceptional meal during a trip to New York in autumn. White tablecloths, wooden chairs and leather seats add a divine old-fashioned touch, for a chic, discreet establishment that's still the talk of the town.

Pierre Yovanovitch art gallery exhibits in Chelsea
In December 2023, interior architect and designer Pierre Yovanovitch opened his nearly 1,000-square-meter space on the top floor of a pre-war building in New York's Chelsea district. Not content with owning a gallery in Paris, the artist is taking advantage of this giant new nest to exhibit his own line of furniture. In this way, the gallery takes on the air of an apartment in which we wander from living room to kitchen, all the while ogling the 80 pieces on display, imagining what place they might find in our own home. All the more reason for us to try our hand at the American adventure.
