Plume's Favorite: the Peony tray from the Faïencerie de Gien
Since 1875, the peony has been a recurring motif in the history of the Faïencerie de Gien, serving as a poetic tribute to nature, evoking a journey to Japan, and celebrating the craftsmanship of the company’s artisans.

The peony, Gien’s iconic design, blending poetry and modernity
An iconic motif of the house, inspired by the Gien archives, originally depicted as a bouquet of multicolored flowers with generous, vibrant petals, the peony is also available in a deep, modern blue, showcasing the exquisite craftsmanship of the hand-painted design.
The new decorative pieces generously extend this floral theme, such as this large platter designed as a work of art, a wall piece, or a coffee table centerpiece.
It impresses with the complexity of its craftsmanship: an 88-cm-diameter serving platter that can be transformed into a precious tabletop tray, requiring long and meticulous work by the house’s potters; a technical feat where tradition meets modernity, requiring a six-month production period.
The Peonies collection, now also available in green, retains all its original delicacy with a touch of modernity that reinforces the aura of this French house, unique in the world.
All hand-painted, these pieces embody exceptional craftsmanship. Timeless.
