Small is beautiful for Les Hôteliers Impertinents
Discover the 3 signature hotels that define Impertinent Hoteliers
Childhood friends Michel Delloye and Jacques-Olivier Larant offer an original and daring vision of the hotel business, offering their customers atypical...and impertinent 3 and 4 star hotels.

The saga of the impertinent duo that shakes up the codes
My first graduated from a business school and began his career in the new technologies sector, while my second, a lawyer by training, scrutinizes real estate law while supervising construction sites. Together, they've been a professional duo since 2012, when Michel Delloye and Jacques-Olivier Larant embarked on their hotel adventure by creating Les hôteliers impertinents. The two childhood friends (who have never left each other) now own five establishments in Paris and on Yeu Island. A far cry from their boarding house at the Jesuits in Rouen (where the two friends began their friendship), they have imagined original, impertinent hotels, far removed from the golden triangles and shopping avenues where their competitors' addresses are springing up.

The attributes of the Impertinents tribe for relaxed families
Their motto: "Choose different locations and carry out large-scale work to create value." Together, they are fully committed to the rebirth of these new places, choosing the interior designers and cabinetmakers themselves. Undeterred, they even went so far as to build La Belle Ville, a 10-story, 4-star hotel in Belleville, near the Porte des Lilas in Paris, during the Covid pandemic. The hotel boasts the largest green wall in the capital, on which nearly 450 species of plants flourish.
After opening the La Mission hotel on the Île d'Yeu last May, the two friends are now looking to take on new locations with the idea of emphasizing the character of each place, reorganizing and implementing a specific marketing approach for each location, shaking up the codes of the hotel industry, and creating more homes than soulless places.
Who's it for? Relaxed families and discerning travelers who like to get off the beaten track and meet up with their tribe.

The three signature hotels of Les Hôteliers Impertinents

Hotel la Mission, on Yeu Island
Located on a historic 19th-century sitecentury century, a former garrison town under Napoleon III, the La Mission hotel has had a thousand lives, having hosted both a school and a parish hall. With its 22 rooms, including 5 duplex suites, this 4-star retreat, which is establishing itself as a new must-visit destination on the island, is ideal for a romantic weekend or a family getaway. Open since spring 2024, this simple luxury hotel is inspired by the colors of the village of Saint-Sauveur, mixed with Anglo-Saxon chic: a delightful combination created by interior designer Pauline d'Hoop. The Nuxe spa and the 4,000 m² garden (which features a food truck to distill the spirit of a "relaxed vacation") complete a series of facilities that also include a pétanque court, a solarium, and an XXL swimming pool. To warm up the atmosphere on windy Ogi evenings, the hotel bar, 1802, named after its Parisian counterpart known for its unique collection of rums, offers more than 150 carefully selected and varied options. Drink responsibly, shipmates!

Hotel Monte Cristo in Paris
The Monte Cristo is (almost) a neighbor to Alexandre Dumas, as it is located not far from the Pantheon, where the author of the most famous vengeful count is (hopefully) resting in peace.
The establishment's 50 rooms don't play the conformist card, as each has its own decor, alternating wallpapers, fabrics and some 350 antiques and paintings of all kinds. It's a mix that never veers into kitsch, and one that's hard to tire of, given the skilful execution of color and material combinations. The hotel's orientalist charm is complemented by the use and abuse of ornamental plants, some of which find their way into the hotel's spa, transforming the basement into a worldly oasis where guests can enjoy a 16-metre-long swimming corridor, booking private sessions to swim in complete tranquillity. New this year, inaugurated this week, the hotel's bar, 1802, known for its unique collection of precious rums, welcomes a new duo of bartenders, Donovan Chouari & Paul-Antoine Herbet, who have created a new cocktail menu for the occasion, inspired by the bar's exotic materials and as impertinent as their guests.

La Conversation in the 15th arrondissement
A three-star hotel with character: that could be the definition of this Left Bank establishment, just a stone's throw from Parc Georges Brassens. With their cosy decor, spread over 7 floors, the 62 rooms are reminiscent of the English drawing rooms of yesteryear. Some in burgundy, others in green, the warm ambience is conducive to confidences and conversation, as is the hotel's convivial wine bar, ideal for those who love slow travel, a place where local residents also like to make their habits. To prove that a three-star hotel can do everything the big boys can, the hotel even offers a 25m2 junior suite. Enough to fuel any conversation: this Parisian hotel has it all!
