A new restaurant in Paris: Sora, an elegant Japanese restaurant
Located in the west of Paris, this new restaurant celebrates Japanese gastronomy in a fusion spirit and a hushed decor of stunning charm. With cuisine led by chef Claudio Rotondo and décor designed by Isadora Viquel, the new "place to be" on the Right Bank offers the 16th arrondissement a precious address.
Nestled on the right bank, at the corner of rue de Longchamp and rue Lauriston, Sora is first and foremost the chic of an enveloping decor and an intimate atmosphere that immediately puts you at ease. Interior designer Isadora Viquel's first restaurant project, this new venue resurrects the ambiance of the Riviera brasseries. The tables are nestled in rounded, salmon-colored banquettes, and the lighting fixtures are Art Deco-inspired. And while the walls are adorned with striped wallpaper, the floor is covered with a colorful, graphic carpet, a nod to the scales of Koi carp. The highlight of the evening is the sublime, round bar where you can sip an Asian-flavored cocktail, including a remarkable Bloddy Sora (lemon tomato juice, sesame oil, black pepper and yuzu).
Led by Italian-born but French-at-heart chef Claudio Rotondo, who has worked at the Royal Monceau and the Bristol, the Japanese-fusion cuisine offers fine foods to share: cod tempura, miso-lacquered black cod, vegetable or fish makis... And noble meats prepared as in Japan, including Wagyu beef and miso duck, tasty and punchy on the palate. As for desserts, the gourmet matcha tea tiramisu is the best sweet option to round off this gourmet moment.
