In Paris, Alfie's, the new Italian restaurant in the 1st arrondissement
Near the Tuileries, a new table that takes you on a journey to Italy...and beyond
The little brother of the Alfred restaurant launched in 2022, and run by the same team, Alfie's has just opened its doors in the heart of Paris, not far from the Jardin des Tuileries. Fusing cocktail bar and transalpine osteria, the restaurant, decorated by Fanny Perrier, unveils an Italian menu revisited with flavours from around the world.

While Italian restaurants still flourish in the capital, Alfie's aims to set itself apart. It relies on its personal interpretation of transalpine cuisine, adored by the French, and its retro chic decor. At number 26 rue du Mont Thabor in the 1st arrondissement, the place was designed by Parisian interior architect Fanny Perrier. She designed the decor for Le Perchoir Y and Maison Lautrec, as well as the Chéri Chéri bar.
As soon as you enter, framed by olive trees and facing a cosy terrace, you discover an osteria-style ambience, just like in Italy. A cocktail list is hand-painted on the large mirror. It overlooks the polished and brushed stainless steel bar, while the floor is covered in light blue, cream and dark red mosaics. Chamois velvet armchairs, sky-blue reading lamps inspired by old-fashioned wagon bars, elegant lacquered walls with luggage racks. The atmosphere oscillates between vintage spirit and cinematic inspiration, with sophisticated elements added in.
Here, we discover the dishes of Jonathan Morales, who worked at Carboni's restaurant. The chef offers traditional Italian cuisine with touches of New York, Argentina (his country of origin), France and the Basque Country. Driven by local produce, the menu's starters include strawberry burrata tzatzíki and cherry sweet chili. There are also four pasta recipes that change with the seasons. For example, bucatini cacio e pepe (the chef's specialty) and rigatoni petit pois et guanciale, fish and meat cooked over an open fire, and desserts revisited with the famous tiramisu. The dishes are accompanied by wines and cocktails created by Bruno and Emmanuelle. The latter were at the helm of Alfred's bar, the brasserie a stone's throw from Alfie's, opened in 2022 and orchestrated by the same quartet and brothers: Martin and Basile Beaupère and Theodore and Casimir Mahoudeau. Following on from the success of Table Alfred, the group has now created a new gourmet address.
