Mama Shelter Paris East: the inimitable
A rooftop hotel in Paris
Forget over-sophisticated palaces: here, love of design rhymes with love of everything. From its former parking lot, the very first Mama Shelter electrifies eastern Paris with its rebellious spirit, Starck decor and rhythmic nights under the stars. A pop UFO where people come to love, celebrate... or both.

Far from the chic neighborhoods and hushed standards, this very first Mama dared to set up shop where no one was expecting it: in a former parking lot on boulevard Davout. The result? An urban UFO that quickly became a cult venue. Conceived as a refuge for offbeat travelers, young Parisians and happy tribes, Mama Shelter Paris East has a free, rebellious spirit. Philippe Starck is responsible for the design: graffitied ceilings, mismatched furniture, raw materials and unusual objects - a joyful aesthetic bazaar, just like the surrounding neighborhood, which has been literally transformed over the past fifteen years. The 172 rooms, both cosy and creative, invite you to relax without sacrificing style. The Mama Shelter Paris East restaurant is a convivial spot for sharing comforting dishes, from generous pizzas to daily specials and the indisputable coquillettes au jambon. The bar is always full, as are the summer evenings on the restaurant's solarium, which from Thursday to Saturday bring a touch of magic to Paris's 20th arrondissement.
